The Privacy Officer is appointed and delegated by the Administrator. Delegaged authority allows for the privacy officer to intervene whenever conditions pose an immediate threat to a patient privacy.

The Privacy Officer shall aim to prevent the inappropriate disclosure of patient identifiable health informatoin. The Privacy Officer responsibilities are outlined in the Privacy Officer job description and associated with hospital wide guidelines.

This delegated authority has been approved by the Medical Staff and Board of Directors.
