PHYSICIAN PRACTICE MANAGER

HOURS:                      Full-Time Position

FULL TIME POSTION

The Physician Practice Manager, plans, manages and coordinates the daily operations and general management of the physician’s practice(s). Provides leadership for all aspects of the medical practice, to include patient relations, staffing, nursing, insurance, billing, and accounting activities.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration or other related field.
  • Must have at least three (3) years of work and supervisory experience in a medical office environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of health planning and clinic management 

sufficient to manage, direct and coordinate the operation of a medical practice.

  • Knowledge of the purposes, organization, and policies of systems sufficient to interact with other healthcare providers.
  • Knowledge of computer programs and their applications.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
  • Ability to analyze situations accurately and take effective actions.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with physicians, Associates, third party payers, patients and the public.
  • Ability to negotiate contracts with third party payers.
  • Ability to establish clear job expectations for each Associate’s position, monitor job performance, review and follow up daily.
  • Recommends, develops, and updates strategic and long-range plans (including financial, administrative, staffing, and medical) to support the medical office’s philosophy and goals.
  • Informs physicians and discusses current and/or changing trends, problems, and activities in healthcare.
  • Assigns duties, supervises, coordinates and schedules activities of staff members.
  • Maintains and develops a competent, productive, and quality conscious workforce by hiring, evaluating performance, counseling, training, issuing corrective action, and recommending promotion or discharge of department staff.
  • Maintains productive levels of output by staff through consistent evaluation and revision of procedures as necessary.
  • Maintains knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures, including OSHA standards, corporate compliance and HIPAA. Ensures regulatory compliance.
  • Reviews all systems within the practice to maintain maximum efficiency.
  • Monitors and develops new procedures and staff assignments to improve quality and quantity of work processes.
  • Prepares annual expense budget and capital request budget standards. Monitors budget and other financial indicators during the year and implements plans to control costs and improve departmental operations.
  • Review of Explanation of Benefits accompanying payments.
  • Monitors all administrative, financial, clerical, housekeeping, and maintenance functions.
  • Monitors patient flow through the practice to ensure appropriate utilization of physician time and staff coverage.
  • Handles more complex administrative patient issues in regards to billing, customer service, and scheduling.
  • Maintains and updates information systems for the physician practice.
  • Orders supplies, equipment, and capital for physician practice. Monitors purchases for physician practice and reports unusual variances to budget.

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Provide direct care to patients according to age continuum accurately. 
    • Assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning and implementation of the plan of care is family-centered, age appropriate and culturally relevant, and individualized to the patient needs.  
    • Identify specific care problems that effect growth and development 
    • Collaborate with members of the multi – disciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementation and evaluating health care delivery
    • Record observation, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures multi – systems monitoring data, and other data relevant to the patient’s care in a retrievable form
    • Initiate treatments, medications, emergency and resuscitative measures based on appropriate utilization of hospital and nationally accepted protocols

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
    • Current licensure as an RN in Tennessee or compact state.LS, ACLS and PALS certification, or obtain within 6 months of employment.
    • Prior experience in hospital nursing preferred.
    • Must exhibit excellent customer service skills in dealing with patients, visitors and fellow employees.
    • Able to assess patients vital signs, condition, recognizing need for intervention.

Medical Laboratory Technician

POSITION:                 Medical Laboratory Technician

JOB SUMMARY

  • Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.
  • Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Performs quality control testing.
  • Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.
  • Labels, processes and delivers specimens for testing.
  • Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.

CRT/RRT

POSITION:                 CRT/RRT

HOURS:                      Full-Time Position

Position Summary:

Responsible for the administration of all respiratory care modalities under the supervision, control, and responsibility of a licensed physician in addition to specific testing techniques to assist in diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment in which respiratory care practitioners have been properly trained.

Minimum Education: Completion of an approved school of respiratory care.

Licensure Requirements:  Valid CRT/RRT Credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Licensed as a registered Respiratory Therapist by the State of Tennessee Health Related Boards with ABG endorsement. Current work-permit acceptable per state regulations.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Therapeutic administration of oxygen including all delivery devices their proper use, indications, contraindications, hazards and appropriate safety measures.
  • Administration of prescribed medication to the cardio-respiratory system including, proper dosage, indications, contraindications, and possible adverse reactions.
  • Demonstrates competency/proficiency in the performance of arterial blood gases and analysis per department policy and procedure.

FULL TIME:  Day Shift

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Knowledge and ability to prepare, cook and serve food for all patients on a regular or modified diet, including age appropriate modifications.
  • Reviews menus and work orders to determine type and quantities of food to prepare.
  • Plans cooking schedule so that foods will be ready at specified times.
  • Confers with Food Service Director or Dietary Manger regarding modified diet preparation.
  • Follows recipes or instructions independently, confers with Food Service Director or Dietary Manager when questions arise or when substitutions are necessary.

Certified Surgical Technician

POSITION:  CERTIFIED SURGICAL TECHNICIAN

FULL TIME SHIFTS:  Full time- Day shift – Call Rotation

 

Position Summary:

  • Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely
  • Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment using sterile technique

Certified Pharmacy Technician

FULL TIME (12pm – 8pm and rotating weekends)

 

The Certified Pharmacy Technician shall comply with all applicable hospital policies, procedures, codes, and standards.  The Pharmacy Technician shall work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Pharmacist.  Pharmacy Technicians shall not perform duties that can only be performed by a Licensed Pharmacist.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Tennessee is required.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required.
  • Experience:  Previous hospital/pharmacy experience preferred but not required.

  • Ensure that medication lists are updated for every patient admitted to the emergency department.
  • Improve accuracy of medication histories prior to admission.
  • Optimize patient outcomes through interdisciplinary medication management in the emergency epartment.
  • Lay out supplies on floor stock envelopes for final check.
  • Serve as courier for deliveries and pickups.
  • Receiving and interpreting medication.
  • Profiling such orders.
  • Routinely refilling medication cart patient drawers.
  • Completing paperwork on such functions.
