Position Overview:
Sweetwater Hospital is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our respiratory care team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care for patients across the lifespan—pediatric, adolescent, and adult—by assessing, treating, and managing a variety of respiratory conditions. Your critical thinking, independent problem-solving skills, and ability to create individualized treatment plans will be essential in delivering the best possible care to our patients.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Associate of Science (A.S.) Degree from an AMA-approved respiratory care program.

Licensure:
- National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) RRT credential required.

Experience:
- Demonstrated competency in delivering safe, high-quality respiratory care treatments.
- Familiarity with departmental policies and procedures related to respiratory therapy.
- Ability to operate and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring safe and efficient treatment delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the respiratory status of pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients, tailoring each treatment plan to meet their age-specific developmental needs.
- Provide respiratory therapy treatments in a safe, effective, and compassionate manner, ensuring optimal care for all patients.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory health and treatment plans, emphasizing comfort and understanding.
- Utilize critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills to assess complex respiratory conditions and provide immediate solutions, sometimes requiring creativity and advanced decision-making.
- Administer therapies and interventions such as mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and more.
- Regularly evaluate treatment outcomes and adjust plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.
- Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute insights based on respiratory care expertise.
- Document patient information and progress in the medical records accurately and thoroughly.
- Safely operate and maintain all respiratory care equipment, ensuring proper function and hygiene.
- Perform regular equipment checks and troubleshooting to address any issues promptly.
