CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT
FULL TIME
The Certified Medical Assistant coordinates and provides patient care in the clinic setting.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate from high school or equivalent
Licensure: Certified Medical Assistant Certification – Required
Limited Radiology Licensure – Required – May be obtained post-hire
Experience: Preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Triage patients and assessment of patients; familiar with all stages of growth and development, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatrics.
• Administering medications, understanding proper dosage including oral, parenteral, and intravenous.
• Documentation of pertinent information on patient chart, reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
• Stabilization of urgent and emergent care needs.
• Demonstrates ability to implement approved protocols for patient care.
• Prepares the patient and performs EKG and/or initiates continuous cardiac monitoring.
• Identified health education needs for patient and communicates plan of care with patient and family.
• Performs lab work as ordered-collection of blood, urine, finger stick and swabbed specimens.
• Facilitates and maintains working atmosphere and environment conductive to communication and cooperation and all states of growth and development.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
